GDMSH’s Leadership Team is Growing!

Over the past several weeks, so much has come together at once. We closed on both buildings, we shared the names Starling and Solstice with the world, and now we are excited to introduce two people who will help us build the organization behind all of it.

Jamie Bussell, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Administrative Officer at Greater Des Moines Supportive Housing.

Jamie Bussell

Chief Financial & Administrative Officer

Jamie joined us on August 10 as CFO/CAO, bringing her firm, JLB Strategy, and years of nonprofit experience in finance, operations, growth, capital projects, and systems. She is stepping into the infrastructure work: payroll, accounting, rent, technology — the things that have to exist for an organization like ours to run and grow responsibly.

I have followed the vision for Greater Des Moines Supportive Housing for several years, so the opportunity to now be part of bringing it to life is especially meaningful to me. GDMSH is building more than housing. It is building an organization that will provide stability, dignity, community, and opportunity for years to come.

Kelsie Pinegar, Deputy Director at Greater Des Moines Supportive Housing.

Kelsie Pinegar

Deputy Director

Kelsie joins us in September as Deputy Director. For the past 15 years, she has worked in housing and homeless services right here in the Des Moines metro, most recently in an executive leadership role. She will help lead our work on staffing, training, partnerships, and programming as we build out wraparound support for our future residents.

I strongly believe that stable housing is foundational to improving all other outcomes in an individual’s life, and I’m drawn to GDMSH’s commitment to belonging and community for those who are most vulnerable in our community.

Please join us in welcoming them both.
